Four-storey building collapses in Karol Bagh

New Delhi | A four-storey building collapsed in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh area on Wednesday, Delhi Fire service said.

A call about the incident was received at 8.40 am after which four vehicles, including two rescue responders, were sent to the spot, a senior official from Delhi Fire Service said. The building is located in Dev Nagar area.

The ground floor of the building houses shops. However, there was no occupancy on the four floors of the building, the officer said.

Operations are underway to ascertain if anyone is trapped inside the building. No casualty has been reported in the incident so far, officials said.

Srinagar | Two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Meemendar area of Shopian district following information about the presence of militants. The officials further informed that the terrorist neutralised by the security forces were affialated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, the terror organistion involved in the Pulwama terror attack.

The encounter has come a day after the Indian Air Force bombed and destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammed’s (JeM) biggest training camp in Balakot in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, about 80-km from the Line of Control (LoC), killing a “very large number” of terrorists, trainers and senior commanders.
