Harish Rawat Revolts Against Congress Says, “My Hands Have Been Tied”

New Delhi: Harish Rawat, one of the Congress’s top troubleshooters, asks for “margdarshan (guidance)” from God and says “he has had enough” in tweets that smack of a new rebellion in the party just weeks before state polls.

The former Uttarakhand Chief Minister, seen to be close to the Gandhis, appears to complain about the Congress leadership in his tweets in Hindi.

“Isn’t it strange? We have to swim in this sea of election, but the organisation, instead of supporting me, has turned its back on me or is playing a negative role,” Harish Rawat writes.

“The powers that be have let loose many crocodiles (predators) in the sea that we have to navigate. Those whom I am supposed to follow, their people have tied my hands and feet. I have been getting the feeling that Harish Rawat, it’s gone too far, you have done enough, it is time to rest,” he says.

“Then there is a voice in the head that quietly says I am neither weak nor will run from challenges. I am in turmoil. Hope the New Year shows me the way. I am confident that Lord Kedarnath (Shiva), will show me the way,” the Congress leader continues, making it clear that he is unhappy and reconsidering his future.

Mr Rawat’s warning is loud and clear, with the Uttarakhand election due early next year.

Not long ago, he was firefighting for the Congress in Punjab, one of the bigger states heading to polls.

Nora Fatehi To Become ED Witness Against Conman Sukesh

Ashmita Chhabria

Mumbai: As per the sources, Actor Nora Fatehi will be becoming the witness of the prosecution in the money laundering case against the conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Actors Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez are under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Rs 200-crore extortion case in which Sukesh Chandrasekhar has been named the prime accused.

Both the actors have appeared several times before the financial probe agencies, for questioning.

The Enforcement Directorate has suspected that Nora was allegedly gifted a BMW by Conman Sukesh. However, she later revealed that Chandrashekhar gave her the car and that his wife, Leena Maria Paul, had also given her a Gucci bag and an iPhone as a “token of love”.

Nora Fatehi was also confronted with Sukesh on October 14. During this, the gift part was discussed.

Nora Fatehi had then told the ED that she was invited by Leena Maria Paul for an event. The event had taken place in December 2020 in Chennai.

ED sources said that as few pet animals were also gifted to the actress, in such cases, they attach the property of similar value. According to IANS, Nora Fatehi told the investigating agency ‘that the officials were free to seize the BMW car gifted to her by Sukesh Chandrashekhar’.

The same goes for Jacqueline Fernandez as well. “Jacqueline said that she didn’t know the background of Sukesh Chandrashekhar and she was ready to cooperate with us in the process of seizing the gifts given to her by Sukesh.”

This attachment processing will take place under section 5 of the PMLA. The source confirmed to IANS that they were about to seize the gifts and other things given to Jacqueline and Nora but they had to file a charge sheet and due to this work got delayed.

“We also arrested Pinky Irani. It kept us busy. Filing a charge sheet, recording statements of new arrests was a time-consuming exercise. We had to arrest seven more persons in the case who are currently lodged in the Tihar Jail. Then we will have to record their testimonies too, so it can take some time,” the news agency reported.

Both the actresses are as of now witnesses in the case and have recorded their testimonies in the 200 crore PMLA case. When asked why they were not made an accused in the case, the source said that both the actresses were not aware of the criminal background of Sukesh.

“We have to see whether the person who receives gifts knows about the money source, if it is a part of proceeds of crime or not. We have found that Jacqueline and Nora were not aware of this.”
