“Hype By Media”: Prashant Kishor Says BJP Will Struggle To Cross Double Digits In WB

This comes after Home Minister Amit Shah, on Saturday, welcomed TMC rebels in BJP. In his rally, he also claimed there will be more desertions to the BJP from the TMC.

Amid escalating political campaigning for upcoming West Bengal Assembly Polls, election strategist Prashant Kishor on Monday said the saffron party will “struggle to cross double digits” in the state. Mr Kishor has been facing criticism after high-profile Suvendu Adhikari joined BJP along with other leaders of TMC ahead of the polls. Reportedly, Mamata Banerjee has not been very satisfied with the way Mr Kishor has handled the unfolding drama in the state.

Mr Kishor, taking on the BJP, today tweeted: “For all the hype AMPLIFIED by a section of supportive media, in reality, BJP will struggle to CROSS DOUBLE DIGITS in West Bengal”. He also said: “If BJP does any better I must quit this space.”

BJP’s National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who’s been at the forefront of BJP’s campaigning in West Bengal, was quick to react on Mr Kishor’s tweet in an indirect jibe.

Without naming Mr Kishor, Mr Vijayvargiya tweeted in Hindi: “Looking at the kind of BJP Tsunami in Bengal, after we form the government, the country will have to lose one election strategist.”

This comes after Home Minister Amit Shah, on Saturday, welcomed TMC rebels in BJP. In his rally, he also claimed there will be more desertions to the BJP from the TMC and that the West Bengal chief minister will be left alone in her party by the time elections come.

“Why are so many people leaving Trinamool Congress? Because of the misrule, corruption and nepotism of Mamata Banerjee. Didi, this is just the beginning. By the time elections come, you will be left all alone,” Mr Shah said in his rally at Midnapore.

“You gave three decades to Congress, 27 years to Communists and 10 years to Mamata didi. Give 5 years to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), we will make Bengal ‘Sonar Bangla’,” the Home Minister said.
