IMD Predicts Moderate To Heavy Rains In Delhi Today

It has been raining heavily in Delhi since this week. Roads in the capital were flooded once again on Wednesday due to rains.

 

Rain and strong winds have been blowing in many areas of Delhi-NCR since morning. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, on Wednesday, September 1, the capital Delhi and the areas around the NCR will receive moderate to heavy rains with thunderstorms in the next two hours. Many places have been flooded due to continuous rains. The traffic was jammed due to waterlogging, which is causing trouble to the commuters.

The places where the department has forecast heavy rains include Lodhi Road, the area around Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), Gurugram, Ghaziabad and NCR including Noida. In Ghaziabad, it has been raining since night.

It has been raining heavily in Delhi since this week. Roads in the capital were flooded once again on Wednesday due to rains. Rains lashed the city at different places on Tuesday morning. Passengers were stuck due to flooding at major places. This shows the deplorable condition of the drainage system. There were long traffic jams in many places on the roads.

The Meteorological Centre for Delhi had issued an alert at 5:40 am. The meteorological department had issued another alert an hour ago at 4:43 am, listing places in Delhi-NCR where it is likely to rain today.
