New Delhi| On Thursday, the total number of Coronavirus positive cases in India surged to 21,393, according to government data.
41 new COVID-19 deaths and 1,409 infections have been reported in 24 hours, as per the health ministry’s latest update.
The total cases include 16,454 active cases, 4257 cured/discharged/migrated and 681 deaths as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country with 6,710 COVID-19 cases, including 789 cured patients and 269 deaths.
With 2,407 active cases, Gujarat has now become the second-worst hit state and follows Delhi with 2,248 infections.
A total of 5,00,542 samples from 485172 individuals have been tested as on 23 April 2020, 9 am. 21797 samples have been confirmed positive: ICMR

After PM Modi on April 14 in a televised address to the nation announced extension saying it was required to continue the fight against coronavirus, the nation will be under 19-day extended lockdown until May 3rd.
