Raebareilli: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on December 19th addressed women in a rally at Raebareilli. In her address, she slams BJP and says that the Centre instead of solving problems is tapping the oppositionโs phone.
Echoing Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Priyanka Gandhi said instead of finding a solution to the problems the public is facing, the current Uttar Pradesh government is โtapping the phones of the Oppositionโ. Addressing women at the โShakti Samvaadโ rally, Gandhi said, โWhat is a govtโs work? To develop, understand & find solutions of the problems of the public, & stop the atrocities, instead, this govt is tapping the phones of the Opposition.โ
At the โMahila Shakti Samvadโ, Priyanka Gandhi said that after Congress came out with its manifesto on women, all other political parties also started announcing (benefits for women).
โFor the first time, the Prime Minister is going to hold a meeting of women only. I am very happy. With a small initiative, all the parties are thinking about women,โ she said.
She believes that women of UP are facing much oppression. Remembering the Unnao and Hathras rape case, she said, โThe women of the state are facing so much oppression,โ at the โMahila Shakti Samvadโ. Gandhi also spoke about a farmer in UP whose suicide added to the woes of the women in his family, who now had to fend for themselves.
Samajwadi Chief Akhilesh Yadav too had alleged that the Centre is tapping oppositionโs phones. โOur phones are being tapped โ of Samajwadi Partyโs office and associated people. CM listens to these recordings every evening. This is the โunupyogi sarkarโ (CM Yogi-government),โ Akhilesh Yadav said in a press conference on Sunday.
Training his guns on UP CM Adityanath, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said Yogiji should remember his government will soon be out of power. These tactics show youโre convinced of your defeat, he added.
โAapne chaapa maarke ye bataa diya hain ki samajwadi log hi aarhe hain. (Your searches have proved that SP people will come to power)โ, he said.
