Iqbal Mirchi connection case: NCP leader Praful Patel reaches ED office

According to sources, the investigating agency found a contract between Iqbal Mirchi and Praful Patel in 2007 regarding the Ceejay House property.

 

Mumbai| Nationalist Congress Party leader Praful Patel on Friday reached Enforcement Directorate Office. He was summoned by the ED in Iqbal Mirchi connection case. Mirchi was a close aide of Underworld Don Dawoon Ibrahim.

ED had said that it has documents that suggest Patel had property dealings with Iqbal Mirchi. According to media reports, ED suspects Patel has close links with Iqbal Mirchi, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim. A few days back ED had also initiated a case in connection with Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank scam involving senior NCP leaders like Ajit Pawar, Jayant Patil and Sharad Pawar himself. Patel is considered very close to Sharad Pawar.

After the ED’s notice, Praful Patel called the allegations against him mere “outrage”. He said, “There are talks about some leaked papers in the media, which have probably never come to my attention.” On the question of relations with Iqbal Mirchi, Patel said, “When the time comes, I will answer all the questions.

Allegations of partnership in property with Iqbal Mirchi

Dawood Ibrahim’s aide Iqbal Mirchi was killed in 2013. According to sources, the investigating agency found a contract between Iqbal Mirchi and Praful Patel in 2007 regarding the Ceejay House property. The document was signed by Praful Patel as a partner. The pictures of agreement that was signed to develop the property were leaked in the media.
