J&K Special Police Officer goes missing; Hizbul claims he joined their ranks

Special Police Officer (SPO) Irfan Ahmad Dar, has gone missing in Jammu and Kashmir after leaving from Pampore police station with an AK-47 rifle, a news agency reported on Wednesday. The search operation is underway.

Meanwhile, Hizbul-Mujahideen has claimed that SPO who fled with the AK-47 rifle, has joined their ranks.

Earlier in the day, security forces arrested four overground workers of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit from Sopore area. Acting on a specific information, police and CRPF laid a joint cordon at fruit mandi crossing in Sopore on Tuesday evening and arrested four OGWs of proscribed terror outfit JeM, a police spokesman said.

This comes more than a week after a Rifleman Aurangzeb was killed by terrorists after he was abducted from south Kashmir’s Shopian district on June 13. Aurangzeb belonged to Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry and was posted at the 44 Rashtriya Rifles camp at Shadimarg in Shopian.
