Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar dead; claim reports

Earlier, Pakistan’s foreign minister in an interview with an international news channel had said that Masood Azhar is unwell and his kidneys have failed.

 

New Delhi| A day after Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told the media that Masood Azhar is unwell, unconfirmed reports from Pakistan have been claiming that he might have died in the airstrike by India. According to the reports, he might have died on Saturday 2nd March after succumbing to his injuries he incurred in the Indian Airstrike. However, official confirmation is still awaited.

India on February 26 conducted an airstrike on JeM training camps across the LoC. Twelve Mirage 2000 fighter jets dropped 1000 kg bomb at three locations within 21 minutes. The airstrike was conducted at three locations: One in Balakot, which is approximately 40 KM from the Line of Control, Muzaffarabad which is approximately 150 KMs from Srinagar and Chakothi in PoK. The first confirmation of the attack came from Pakistan itself as its DGISPR Major General Asif Gafoor tweeted about the airstrike.

Recently, an audio clip of Masood Azhar’s brother Maulana Ammar had come into light in which he reportedly admitted that India carried out an airstrike. Earlier, Pakistan’s foreign minister in an interview with an international news channel had said that Masood Azhar is unwell and his kidneys have failed.

The news of his death has is also being viral on social media. However, no confirmation on the same has been received.
