JEE-Mains, JEE-Advanced, NEET Exam Dates Announced

JEE and NEET exams were deferred due to the spread of the highly contagious novel coronavirus and the national lockdown.

New Delhi: Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced today that Joint Entrance Examination, JEE, for Engineering colleges will be held from July 18-23, while medical entrance exam National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate will be conducted on July 26.

Due to the lockdown imposed in the nation to battle the novel coronavirus, the two crucial exams were deferred.

Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said: “JEE-Mains will be held from July 18-23, while JEE-Advanced will be held in August. NEET will be conducted on July 26.”

He added that a decision will soon be made on the pending CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams.

Earlier, Joint Entrance Exam-Advanced exam was scheduled to be held on May 17 while JEE-Mains were scheduled from April 5-11.

Over 15 lakh students from all over the country have registered to take NEET this year, which is the entrance test for medical colleges in India, whereas over 9 lakh have registered for Joint Entrance Exam Mains, the gateway exam for all the engineering colleges.
