Kejriwal Calls Delhi Mosque’s Act “Irresponsible”

“The world over people are dying and at this time, when all religious places are deserted, they committed such a serious act,” Kejriwal further added.

New Delhi| Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal today informed that 441 people were taken out of the mosque in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area where hundreds were stuck in the mosque after attending a religious gathering. 7 deaths with symptoms of coronavirus have been linked with this congregation so far.

“It was a highly irresponsible act,” the Delhi CM said today.

“The world over people are dying and at this time, when all religious places are deserted, they committed such a serious act,” he further added.

Around 2000 people had been staying at Markaz Nizamuddin, the headquarters of Tablighi Jamaat group, after they were stuck there post the lockdown imposed across the country.

Over 400 people were taken to hospitals yesterday after they showed symptoms of the deadly virus. Around 1000 others were taken out in buses to other places in the city for isolation.

After Delhi CM’s order, the police has filed a case against the mosque administration. Several states are tracking people who visited the congregation to limit the spread of the virus.
