Mumbai : Kranti Redkar has come out in defense of her husband, NCB officer Sameer Wankhede, who is probing the Mumbai drugs case. He interacted with the media in the state’s capital Mumbai. Kranti said that her husband is an Honest Officer and many people desire his removal.
During Media Interaction regarding the letter issued by the Minister of Maharashtra Government Nawab Malik, Sameer said that such letters have no authenticity. Kranti said my husband is not wrong, we will not tolerate it.
Sameer Wankhede’s wife Kranti said, “All these claims are false and if their Nawab Malik has any such evidence, then they should present Nawab Malik in the court only then justice will be done on him. Anyone can write anything on Twitter that will not turn out to be true. See the certificate of Samir Wankhede’s entire village, see the certificate of his entire Wankhede family, one person can get a false certificate made, the whole village can get a little certificate made.”
When Kranti was asked whether she would go to court against Nawab Malik, she said that why should we go to court? Those leveling allegations against us should go to court. We are not ‘millionaires’, we are ordinary people. Sameer is an honest officer. Many people desire removal of Sameer from NCB.
She says that “we are open to investigation and have nothing to hide.” She also said that the claims made in the letter are false. “There is no evidence to support Prabhakar Sail’s allegations,” she says. NCB’s probe on Wankhede began after an independent witness named KP Gosavi accused him of demanding bribe.
Kranti Redkar informed that she has been provided police protection as her family has been receiving death threats.
“Who’s he (Nawab Malik) to look for a bureaucrat’s birth certificate? His research team calls a picture posted in Bombay from Dubai… We’re receiving death, threat calls. I feel I should also present false evidence… every day,” said Yasmeen, the sister of NCB officer Sameer Wankhede.
