RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav was granted bail by the Ranchi High Court on Saturday in Dumka treasury case of the multi-crore rupees fodder scam

RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav was granted bail by the Ranchi High Court on Saturday in Dumka treasury case of the multi-crore rupees fodder scam, paving way for his release from jail, the LiveLaw reported.

Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh granted the bail to former Bihar Chief Minister.

The court has directed the RJD leader neither to leave the country without permission nor change his address and mobile number during the bail period.

Earlier, the former Bihar CM had acquired bail in three other cases of the fodder scam and was waiting for judgement in the instant case related to illegal withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury in 90s to come out of the jail.

In January last year, in the wake of his bad health, Lalu Yadav was airlifted to AIIMS New Delhi.

After the court’s decision to grant Mr Prasad bail, his son and RJD MLA Tej Pratap Yadav took to Twitter to inform that his father would be walking out of the jail.

“The primate of poor, deprived and backward is coming. Tell those who do injustice, our leader is coming,” Tej Pratap Yadav tweeted in Hindi.
