New Delhi: The Bodies of CDS Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat’s last rites will be performed today at Brar crematorium in Dhaula Kuan. The funeral is scheduled for 4 pm. Civilians can pay tribute to CDS Gen Bipin Rawat from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Karaj Marg residence tomorrow. Military personnel can pay respects between 12:30 pm to 13:30 pm. Thereafter, the mortal remains will be taken in a gun carriage for the funeral in Delhi’s Cantt Brar Square.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval reaches Palam airbase, where mortal remains of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madulika Rawat, and 11 others had been placed and paid tributes. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh too paid tributes to them. Rajnath Singh Tweeted, “Paid tributes to General Bipin Rawat, his wife and eleven brave-hearts who lost their lives in an unfortunate accident. I salute their service to the nation.”

“General Bipin Rawat was a hero son of India and champion of very strong defence relations b/w Israel and India. For us, it is a loss of a friend. The top leadership of our country knew him, valued his friendship,” said Ambassador of Israel to India Naor Gilon on CDS General Bipin Rawat’s demise.

In view of the funeral procession of CDS General Bipin Rawat who died in a chopper crash on Wednesday, there will be heavy traffic restrictions on K Kamaraj Road in Delhi today.
As per a Delhi Police official, K Kamraj Road will be closed for public transport after the body of CDS General Rawat will reach his residence. All public transport will be diverted. This change in route will affect buses the most as there is a bus stop situated near CDS General Rawat’s residence. The decision to stop autorickshaws and other means of public transport will be taken today, said the official.
However, the road will be open for private vehicles, but this is also subject to information of VIP movement received by the police. A lot of decisions regarding route diversion will be taken on Friday.
The VIP movement on the roads have started from 7-8 AM, which will last till late evening.
