“For a few people, the benefit of the farmers of the entire country cannot be harmed,” Piyush Goyal said.

New Delhi| The farmers’ protest has entered 17th day and there is yet no sign of rhe deadlock ending soon. Farmers have already rejected the govt proposal and demanded complete repeal of the three farm laws. However, the govt has said that it will not roll back the farm laws. So far, five rounds of talks between the farmers’ leaders and the govt have failed.

Now, in a shocking statement, union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the farmers’ movement has gone into the hands of leftists and Maoists. He said that the left parties want to run their agenda under the garb of farmers’ movement. Goyal appealed to the farmers not to be influenced by their misconduct and talk to the government. “The doors of government are open to farmers and the government is ready to discuss every issue,” Goyal said.

Talking to NBT, Goyal blamed the Leftists saying that they are provoking the farmers. When asked whether the government would withdraw all three agricultural laws, Goyal clearly said that these bills are going to benefit all the farmers of the country immensely. “For a few people, the benefit of the farmers of the entire country cannot be harmed,” he said.

He said, “If the farmers want to discuss any issue of the bill, then they should come and talk to the government. The government is ready for this. As far as the MSP is concerned, full assurance has been given to the farmers from the Lok Sabha to the government that it will not be withdrawn. MSP will continue.” He further said that this time 23% more farmers’ grain was purchased.

Goyal said that the new farm bills will give farmers freedom from all kinds of restrictions.
