Railway minister Piyush Goyal said the local train services will be restored completely by tonight. He also said that all the bridges on the Mumbai suburban railway line will be reviewed by IIT.

Addressing the media after a over-bridge collapsed at Mumbai’s Andheri Station, Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal said that around 500 railway employees are working to restore western rail lines.

Goyal, visited the accident site in the afternoon in Andheri, said that an ad hoc compensation of Rs 1 lakh will be given to the five injured and their treatment expenses will be taken care of by the Railways.

Five people were injured as a foot-over bridge near the Andheri railway station collapsed on Tuesday morning, stalling train services on the Western line of the Mumbai suburban railway system. The bridge is part of the Gokhale bridge on SV Road that connects Andheri West to East.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade, city police and ambulance services were deployed at the site to remove the debris.

The weather bureau’s forecast on Tuesday morning said that intermittent rain is likely to occur in the city and its suburbs with heavy rain at isolated places throughout Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tiwari also claimed that there is no shortage of electricity in the power grid but the AAP government is taking no action against the private power supply companies who have created an “artificial electricity shortage”

New Delhi, July 3 (PTI) Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari today alleged that the people of Delhi are facing an “artificial” water and power “crisis” due to the “visionless” functioning of the Arvind Kejriwal government.

Claiming that according to an RTI reply by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), water supply to the national capital from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh has been increasing constantly, he said, “Had the government ensured proper treatment of raw water received from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand and got it distributed under a judicious summer action plan, people of Delhi would get regular and proper water supply.”

Tiwari also claimed that there is no shortage of electricity in the power grid but the AAP government is taking no action against the private power supply companies who have created an “artificial electricity shortage” in Delhi.

“The government, instead of working for the development of Delhi, is wasting time on political melodrama,” he said in a press conference.

Tiwari claimed that the “disappointment” of the people with the working of the AAP government was reflected in the social media survey conducted by BJP leader Kuljeet Chahal in which 94 per cent respondents believed that the AAP government is using full statehood issue to “divert attention” of the people from its “failure” to perform.
