Ludhiana| An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Anil Kohli from Punjab’s Ludhiana passed away owing to the coronavirus infection. With his demise, the death toll in Punjab due to coronavirus has reached 14.
According to the District Public Relations Office (DPRO), Kohli passed away earlier on Saturday in SPS Hospital of Ludhiana. The DPRO informed on Twitter, “Sad News ACP Anil Kohli passed away. Died of #COVID-19. Was admitted to SPS Hospital Ludhiana.”

DGP Punjab Police Dinkar Gupta tweeted after his demise offering condolences. He said, “Our brother officer Anil Kohli, ACP Ludhiana, lost his battle against #COVID-19 today afternoon. Anil served Punjab Police and the people of Punjab for over 30 years. May his soul RIP! Our prayers are with his family, relatives and all those worked with him.”

Earlier on Friday, a 58-year-old man who had tested positive for Covid-19 and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ludhiana died. 14 new cases of coronavirus were reported from Ludhiana on Friday.
