Manoj Sinha Appointed New J&K LG, GC Murmu Likely To Take Over As CAG Head

Srinagar| Manoj Sinha will be the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Rashtrapati Bhavan has given this information. Sinha has served as Minister of State for Railways and Minister of State for Communications in the first term of the Modi government. Sinha, an MP from Ghazipur, is a prominent BJP leader in eastern Uttar Pradesh. However, he lost the Lok Sabha elections last year. His name also came up dor the post of Chief Minister after the 2017 assembly elections in UP.

Girish Chandra Murmu may get the responsibility of CAG

President Ram Nath Kovind has accepted the resignation of Girish Chandra Murmu. Murmu was the first Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He resigned on Wednesday. Murmu, a 1985 batch IAS officer, is a Gujarat cadre officer. According to sources, Murmu is being sent to Delhi after being made the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG). Rajiv Maharishi is currently a CAG chief and he is retiring this week.

Omar Abdullah questions Murmu’s sudden resignation

On August 5, on the day of completion of one year of removal of Article 370 in Kashmir, the news of Murmu’s resignation suddenly went viral on social media and WhatsApp groups. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah questioned this. He asked how the discussion related to the Lieutenant Governor started so suddenly?
