Mayawati Slams BJP On Refusal Of Caste Census Of Backward Classes

BSP

New Delhi : BSP President Mayawati slammed BJP for ‘refusal’ of caste census on Friday expressed great concerns over Centre’s refusal of caste census of backward classes. She said, it exposed the BJP of using the community only for its electoral interests.

Her reaction came right after the central government said to Supreme Court that caste census are “administratively difficult and cumbersome.”

Mayawati in her tweet expressed a lot of grave concern, the refusal of central government on caste census of backward class by filing an affidavit in Supreme Court will expose politics of BJP. BSP supremo tweeted, “The categorical refusal of the Central government to conduct the caste census of the backward classes by filing an affidavit in the Hon’ble Supreme Court is a matter of grave concern which exposed the OBC politics of BJP’s electoral interests and also the difference in their words and deeds.”

She said that just like the SC/STs, the demand for conducting caste census of OBCs has gained momentum in the country. But the refusal of the Centre is going to hurt the community.

The Union Government told Supreme Court that the information gathered through caste census conducted in 2011 will not be usable for any official purposes now, on account of grave “inaccuracies” in its data. It is also against collecting any information on castes or backward classes, other than Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), during the upcoming population census in 2022.

TestHostEntry

New Delhi: Jailed Gangster Jitendra Gogi was killed during a firing in Delhi’s Rohini Court. Initial information said that he was shot dead by rivals. Three others have been killed and some others are injured in the incident. He was earlier said to have been operation freely from behind bars.

He was brought to be presented in the court. Police said that the shooters were already present with arms at the court premises. According to DCP Rohini, two of the assailants, who fired upon Gogi in court, were in uniform of advocates. Police then returned fired and the assailants were killed.

According to media reports, Gogi became a criminal over a decade ago during his college days when a friendship with Sunil Maan a.k.a Tillu, turned into a bitter rivalry, following Gogi’s alleged murder of one of Tillu’s close friends. The two, reportedly, also differed on which candidates to support during an election at Shraddhanand College.

In an act of vengeance, Tillu is believed to have killed a friend of Gogi’s, triggering a gang-war that terrorised the nation’s capital. The two rival gangs tussled to fill a vacancy in the underworld caused by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell’s neutralisation of gangster Neetu Dabodia and capture of his successor, Neeraj Bawana, in 2013.

Gogi was apprehended and imprisoned at Tihar Jail in 2015. However, his desperation to kill Tillu, who was jailed at Sonipat jail, led him to plan an escape that eventually took place in July 2016, while Gogi was being transported from Tihar Jail to Narwana in Haryana. Although Gogi managed to escape, four of his accomplices, including national-level boxer Deepak Pahal and female athlete Parveen Pandhi, have since been arrested.

Gogi, along with his three associates was arrested in March by the Counter Intelligence unit of Delhi Police.  Gogi and his associates— identified as Kuldeep Maan alias Fajja, Rohit Moi and Kapil were arrested from Gurugram.

In March, Gangster Kuldeep Maan alias Fajja, was killed during an encounter. He was a close aide of jailed gangster Jitender Maan alias Gogi, who was brought to the hospital for treatment, when nearly 10 armed assailants attacked police personnel and overpowered them.
