Misa Bharti produced before Delhi court in money laundering case

New Delhi: Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar were produced before the Patiala House court on Monday.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED has charged the couple with a case of converting black money worth 8000 crores into white money through the shell company of businessmen Surendra Jain and Virender Jain.

During the hearing, the Special CBI judge Arvind Kumar issued a production warrant against another accused, Santosh Jha, and listed the next date of hearing on June 4.

Businessmen Surendra and Virender Jain who were granted bail in January on a personal bond of 2 lakhs were also produced before the court today.

The CBI court has also granted bail to the couple in the similar case on the ground that they cannot leave the country without the Court’s permission.
