Mr Pawar will host a maiden meeting of 15 opposition parties under the banner of Rashtra Manch at his residence at 4 pm on Tuesday.
Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar, who travelled to national capital Delhi yesterday, will host a maiden meeting of 15 opposition parties under the banner of Rashtra Manch at his residence at 4 pm on Tuesday, FPJ reported.
However, the Congress party is unlikely to attend the meeting. Pawar will hold a meeting of “non-Congress” opposition parties, NDTV reported.
The update has come shortly after the veteran political leader met poll strategist Prashant Kishor earlier in the day. This was their second meeting in last two weeks. Days after their last meeting on June 11 in Sharad Pawar’s Mumbai home, they both met today in Delhi.
The meetings between the two have been seen as an attempt to strategise the United Opposition against the Narendra Modi-led BJP in 2024 general elections.
Prashant Kishor, who successfully strategised Mamata Banerjee’s victory in the recently held West Bengal Assembly Election, had later announced that he is quitting the job of poll strategist.
However, recent developments have shown that Mr Kishor might have busied himself in creating a strong opposition front for the next Lok Sabha election.
