In February last year, over 40 soldiers were killed when a suicide bomber rammed a security convoy with a car full of explosives in Pulwama.
According to a report by NDTV, sources claimed that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has named Pakistan-based terrorist Masood Azhar, the chief of the Jaish-e-Mohammad, and his brother Rauf Asghar as the masterminds of the Pulwama attack that took place in 2019.
The details of how the planning and execution of one of the deadliest terror attacks in Kashmir was done from Pakistan have been mentioned in 5000 pages chargesheet, which NIA is likely to file today at a court in Jammu.
In February last year, over 40 soldiers were killed when a suicide bomber rammed a security convoy with a car full of explosives in Pulwama.
Jaish-e-Mohammad conspirators, terrorists who were killed in various operations and half-a-dozen others accused of providing logistical support are amongst the 20 people named in the chargesheet by NIA.
“It’s a very lengthy charge sheet and we are going to file it today in Jammu court,” the Deputy Inspector General of NIA, Sonia Narang, told NDTV.
As per sources, the document includes call recordings and WhatsApp chats with photos of explosives, including RDX, being transferred, which were found on the phone of Umar Farooq, a Pakistan-based Jaish commander killed by security forces soon after the Pulwama attack.
Video and audio recordings of Masood Azhar praising the Pulwama attack are also said to be part of the charge-sheet.
One Telegram group of Jaish is also a part of digital imprints. The group had a post soon after the attack claiming “100 Indian Hindu soldiers were killed and destroyed”.
Masood Azhar is wanted for several conspiracies in India including the 26/11 attack on Mumbai.
