Night Curfew Imposed In Maharashtra From March 28, Uddhav Thackeray Says “Threat of Covid-19 Increased”

“The public needs to understand that the threat of Coronavirus has not gone away, it has increased,” Uddhav Thackeray said while announcing night curfew

Mumbai| In view of the increasing cases of coronavirus, the Maharashtra government has decided to impose a night curfew in the entire state from March 28. During this time, all malls will be closed from 8 pm to 7 am. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held an online meeting on Friday and directed the collector of all the districts. This decision has been taken to prevent the mob from gathering in one place and to reduce the spread of infection.

During the meeting, Uddhav Thackeray said, “It is not my intention to put a lockdown in the state, but due to rising Coronavirus patients are increasing in the state, we are going the same way. He asked all the collectors to make adequate arrangements for beds, medicine and medical facility in hospitals.”

“The danger is not averted but increased”

The CM said that after a second wave and two and a half months of lockdown in a country like Britain, things are slowly being reopened. The same situation is now happening in the US. “The public needs to understand that the threat has not gone away, it has increased. The number of patients is increasing rapidly. It is not possible to say how much this number will increase in the coming time. In such a situation, strict measures need to be considered,” Thackeray said. He told the collectors that if the number of patients is increasing rapidly in a district, then lockdown can be imposed, but do not implement it suddenly.

“Strict restrictions will have to be imposed if people do not obey the rules”

The CM made it clear that if people do not follow the rules, stringent restrictions will have to be imposed in future. The government has issued directives to its employees as well as private offices regarding changes in office timings. The district administration should monitor whether the rules are strictly followed or not. Strict action should be taken against those who break the rules.

He said that if guidelines are not implemented in crowded places like malls, bars, hotels, cinemas then action should be taken against them as well. The Chief Minister said that socio-political and cultural programs will be banned so that there is no crowd.

Meanwhile, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has written a letter to all the states and union territories in view of the upcoming festivals. In this, he has asked to take necessary measures to keep the coronavirus spread in mind.
