Uddhav Thackeray said that the govt is trying to restart more activities in ‘Green Zones’ but it was a challenge to maintain “Green Zones” as they are.
Mumbai| Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday addressed the state as the fourth phase of the lockdown began in the country. He said that the increasing number of cases in the state made it harder for the govt to announce ease in restrictions. Maharashtra has recorded the maximum number of cases anywhere in the country.
Thackeray said that the govt is trying to restart more activities in ‘Green Zones’ but it was a challenge to maintain “Green Zones” as they are. “We’ve allowed all the shops and businesses in green and orange zone but we won’t give any permission to any shops and businesses in the red zone as it can be dangerous,” said Uddhav Thackeray. He further informed that 50000 businesses have been allowed to operate in Maharashtra. All the factories that don’t produce any harmful gases are allowed to start their business without any permission.

As migrants are returning to their hometowns, Thackeray appealed the locals in Green zones to come out and help the industries. Referring to PM Modi’s “Atma Nirbhar” pitch, he said, “I appeal to Maharashtra’s brothers and sisters — if you are in the green zone, please come out. There is a lack of manpower in industries. I appeal once again. In Modi-ji’s language — let’s become Atma Nirbhar.”
Talking about the reports that hospital facilities in Maharashtra are lacking, he said that the govt has ensured many beds facilities are made available. “We’ve come up with 1100 bed in BKC, Goregaon, Mahalaxmi racecourse and many other places for covid patients. With these facilities, we also came up with oxygen and ICU beds,” Thackeray said.
He said that so far 5 Lakh migrants have been sent back to their hometowns from Maharashtra. He requested the stranded migrants to stay put in the camps and assured they all will be sent back to their native places.
