Parliament Worker Tests Positive For Covid-19, Family Sent In Isolation

The secretariat employee was admitted to RML hospital in Delhi after testing positive for Covid-19. The employee’s family, however, has also been put in isolation.

New Delhi| One of the housekeeping workers in the Lok Sabha Secretariat has tested positive for Covid-19, the disease spread by a novel coronavirus.

The official informed that the contact tracing of the parliament employee will soon begin.

Lok Sabha, the lower house of parliament was adjourned sine die on March 23, almost two weeks before PM Modi announced a nation-wide lockdown to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

On Tuesday, the total number of coronavirus cases have reached 18,000 with around 600 deaths due to the infection. In Delhi, the total number of cases spiked up to 2,081 on Monday, with 78 fresh cases and two deaths due to the Covid-19 disease.

The total number of casualties in Delhi due to coronavirus stand at 47.
