PM Modi also shared a past incident of a terrorist attack and a call he received from Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said that Ghulam Nabi Azad was as concerned at that time as anyone is for his family.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Once I and Ghulam Nabi Ji were talking in the lobby. Journalists were watching. As soon as he came out, they surrounded him. Ghulam Nabi Azad said that there is debate between us. But, this is a family and we share our pleasantries.”

PM Modi further praised the garden that Ghulam Nabi Azad has built in the bungalow and said it reminds him of the Valley of Kashmir. “We have been close. There can hardly be any such incident when there is no connection between us,” PM said.

PM Modi got emotional and said, “The terrorists attacked in Gujarat and after this I got the first call from Ghulam Nabi ji. This phone was not just for informing. He couldn’t stop his tears on the phone. That time Pranab Mukherjee was the defense minister, I called him to ask whether an airforce plane could be arranged to get the body. He said I will make arrangements. I got a call from Ghulam nabi ji who expressed concern like a family member would. “
