Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his day-long visit in Kashmir valley today laid the foundation of Zojila tunnel considered as Asia’s longest bi-directional tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir. The Rs. 6,800 project will provide all-weather connectivity between Srinagar, Kargil, and Leh which remains closed for a major part of the year due to snowfall.
PM Modi on his day-long visit will also be inaugurating a hydro-electricity project and participate in the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Ladakhi spiritual leader Kushak Bakula.
Addressing the Public meeting in Leh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “There is great scope for agricultural growth across the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This state can play a key role when it comes to helping further holistic healthcare”
“In a single day, projects worth Rs 25,000 crore will either be inaugurated or initiated in Jammu and Kashmir”, PM added.
