The Maoist insurgency is the biggest challenge faced by the state of Chhattisgarh ahead of the crucial assembly polls.

According to a news agency, the driver, conductor and cleaner of the bus were among the civilians killed in the blast.

Reportedly, the CISF soldier had gone to town to buy some groceries. He took the bus from Bachelli Hills where the CISF camps are located. About an 8-km from Bacheli, the IED tore through the bus when it was returning to the campsite. Security forces have launched a combing operation in the area to find the Maoists.
