PM Modi wishes the country on the occasion of Independence Day

PM Modi is expected to address the nation on a number of issues including the recent decision of the government to abrogate Article 370 and Triple Talaq

 

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the countrymen on the occasion of Independence Day. In a tweet, he said, “Happy Independence Day to all my fellow Indians. Jai Hind!”

He also wished Indians on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

This will be Prime Minister Modi’s first address from the iconic Red Fort since coming power for the second term. This will also be PM Modi’s sixth address from Red Fort since he came to power in 2014.

PM Modi is expected to address the nation on a number of issues. He may speak about the recent decision of the government to abrogate Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcate the state into two separate Union Territories.

He may also talk about the Triple Talaq bill that was passed in the parliament during the budget session.

PM Modi also paid homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
