BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday warned of another COVID wave that could target especially young children and urged the Modi government to delegate “the conduct of this war” to Senior BJP Leader and Union Cabinet Minister, Nitin Gadkari. He further said that relying on the PMO is “useless”

Netizens were divided on this view and #Gadkari trended on Twitter for a large part of the day. When asked by one of the users as to why he’s suggesting Gadkari’s name, Mr. Swamy replied that Gadkari had proved his ability in the infrastructural framework aspect needed in COVID-19.

In another tweet on Wednesday evening, he insisted that a serious Covid crisis management team is required to monitor and strategize our response instead of “PMO psychos”

Meanwhile, as India continues to struggle with the second wave K Vijay Raghavan, the principal scientific advisor to the Centre, said during a press briefing today that the third wave of COVID-19 was inevitable in the country, although the time frame of the same isn’t clear.
