UP police officer folds hands before CM Yogi Adityanath, sparks controversy

Gorakhpur | A Uttar Pradesh Police officer in Gorakhpur sparked controversy after pictures of him taking blessing from head priest of Gorakhnath temple and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in uniform went viral on the internet.

In images shared by officer Pravin Kumar Singh himself on Facebook, Singh is seen kneeling down in front of the CM Aditynath with folded hands while in the other photograph, he is seen applying a tilak on Adityanath’s forehead. A third photograph shows the police officer garlanding the Chief Minister. The officer shared these images with titled ‘feeling blessed’.

Praveen Kumar Singh is appointed as the circle officer of Gorakhnath area in Gorakhpur and in charge of several police stations. The police officer in his post stated that he was seeking the blessings of CM Yogi Adityanath on the occasion of Guru Purnima, not as the chief minister but as the head of the Gorakhnath temple.
