Punjab cabinet takes oath, Rana Gurujeet also a part of the new cabinet

Chandigarh: While fifteen Ministers have been induced in the new Punjab cabinet, five Captain Amarinder Singh’s loyalist were not retained. The cabinet oath taking ceremony began at around 4:35 pm today.

Here is the list of Punjab Cabinet

1. Brahm Mohindra: A resident of Patiala, Brahm Mohindra is considered special to former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh. He was a local government minister and is considered to be the big Hindu face of Punjab.

2. Bharat Bhushan: Old Congressmen belonging to Ludhiana. He is known to be another Hindu face of Punjab and for having a strong hold on youth. He looked after the food and supply department in the previous government.

3. Manpreet Badal: He rebelled against the Badal family and joined the Congress. He became the Finance Minister of Punjab and was special to Amarinder Singh.

4. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa: He rebelled against Amarinder Singh to support Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu. He was considered to be one of the powerful cabinet ministers in the previous state government.

5. Pargat Singh: An Olympian hockey player, Pargat Singh is from the Akali Dal who rebelled against Amarinder Singh and is known to be Sidhu’s right hand.

6. Sukhbinder Sarkaria: Despite being very special to Amarinder Singh, he rebelled against him. Sarkaria was the Revenue Minister in the previous government.

7. Vijay Inder Singla: He previously held the Education Minister portfolio. He is known to have close ties with the Gandhi family.

8. Raj Kumar Verka: He is considered to be the Dalit face of the party.

9. Rana Gurjeet Singh: He had to resign from the Amarinder Singh-led government when his name came up in a controversy.

10.Sangat Singh Gilzian: Elected as MLA many times, Gilzian was Amarinder Singh’s core MLA and a part of team Sidhu. He is now going from party to the government.ADVERTISEMENT

11. Randeep Singh Nabha: He is also known as Kaka Randeep Singh Nabha and is an MLA in Punjab Vidhan Sabha

12. Aruna Chaudhary: She represents Dina Nagar constituency.

13. Razia Sultana: She is the only Muslim women to be inducted in the cabinet. She is known to have a tiff with Amarinder Singh as her IPS husband was not made DGP.

14. Gurkirat Kotli: He is the grandson of former chief minister Beant Singh and has been elected as MLA from Khanna constituency for the second time.

15. Amarinder Singh Raja Warring: Belongs to Bathinda and is known to be close to the Gandhi family.

Among these, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Rajkumar Verka, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Rana Gurjeet Singh, and Pargat Singh are completely new to the post.

Rana Gurujeet Singh who was opposed by the Punjab Congress MLAs will also be a part of Charanjit Singh Channi’s government.

Also, the name of Kuljit Nagra, working president of PCC, was also included in the list. But he declared on Facebook live that he wouldn’t be a part of the cabinet.

A young face, Nagra is known to be close to Rahul Gandhi and a loyalist of the Gandhi family.
