Sanjay Jha Officially Resigns as Maharashtra AIPC President; Mathew Antony Appointed Acting President

Later, the AIPC on Friday declared that Mathew Antony has been appointed as Acting President of Maharashtra AIPC until further notice.

Mumbai| Congress leader Sanjay Jha, after being removed as party spokesperson, resigned as president of the Maharashtra unit of the All India Professionals Congress (AIPC) on Friday. Mathew Antony has been named as Acting President of AIPC’s Maharashtra chapter.

Sanjay Jha, on his twitter handle, announced his decision to resign from the President post of AIPC Maharashtra. He said, “I have submitted my resignation as President, AIPC, Maharashtra. My political outspokenness conflicts with my official position. I am glad my signature #AIPCInteractive brand is being used by the Congress. @ShashiTharoor is a delight to work with. Thanks all!”

AIPC informed through a tweet that AIPC Chief Shashi Tharoor has accepted the resignation. The tweet read, “Our Chairman @ShashiTharoor today accepted with regret the resignation of @jhaSanjay as an officer-bearer of @ProfCong. The AIPC remains grateful for Mr Jha’s strong advocacy of the values & principles of @INCIndia over the years.”

Later, the AIPC on Friday declared that Mathew Antony has been appointed as Acting President of Maharashtra AIPC until further notice.

Talking to HW News after his appointment as Acting President of AIPC Maharashtra, Mathew Antony said, “I have been with AIPC since the time of its inception. Responsibility is to grow the organization by including different voices across the professional sector in Maharashtra.”

“Educated people love to contribute towards Nation building, at the same time, the complexities in politics and the perception of corruption keeps them away. We want to attract them more towards Nation building through the AIPC platform,” he further added.

Responding to the removal of Sanjay Jha as party spokesperson and his resignation from the President post of AIPC, Antony said, “I have worked closely with Sanjay Jha in the last three years. We share an excellent personal rapport. With AIPC & Sanjay Jha, it’s been a very good relationship. We don’t have any kind of issues in the relationship. He has chosen his path and we are going ahead with what our objective is.”
