Signature Bridge incident: Delhi police register FIR against AAP leader Amanatullah Khan and CM Kejriwal

New Delhi | The Delhi Police on Saturday named Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in an FIR regarding the incident during the inauguration of the Signature bridge in Delhi.

According to sources, the Crime Branch of Delhi police has registered FIR under IPC’s Section 6 (32) (assault), 506 (threatening to kill), 308 (injuries), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 341 (pausing) and 34 (Kaman intension) ). The investigation team will soon question Amanatullah Khan in this regard, sources added. Several AAP volunteers had registered an FIR against BJP workers and Delhi MP Manoj Bajpayee in regard to the commotion during the inauguration of Signature bridge. 3 FIRs have been lodged in the Osmanpur police station regarding the incident. The investigation of all the FIRs have been transferred to the Crime Branch.

Responding to the FIR, the Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that the Delhi police has registered an FIR against CM Kejriwal, but when will it act on Manoj Tiwari who attacked Delhi police officers and CM Kejriwal.”Despite giving a written complaint to the Delhi Police on this matter, no FIR has been lodged against Manoj Tiwari,” added Aam Aadmi Party.

Earlier Manoj Tiwari and his supporters allegedly got into a scuffle with AAP members and police at the inaugural event of the newly-built Signature Bridge here on 4 November. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader had gone to the event to stage a protest for allegedly not being invited to the inauguration despite being Member of Parliament from the area.
