New Delhi| The Supreme Court of India has taken cognizance and initiated suo motu contempt of court proceedings against advocate Prashant Bhushan and Twitter India. The matter will be heard tomorrow by a bench comprising Justice Gavai, Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Krishna Murari.
The exact reason behind the suo motu action is not clear yet. However, on July 2 a Madhya Pradesh based lawyer had filed a petition against Prashant Bhushan and Twitter India for the former’s tweet against CJI SA Bobde riding a bike in Nagpur, according to Bar and Bench.
