Tight Contest In Bihar Between NDA & MGB, Narrow Margin Leads On Majority Of Seats

On 23 seats, candidates have a lead of less than 500 votes. In tightly-fought contests, on 11 seats, the margin of lead is less than 200 votes.

Though early trends show JD(U) led NDA is seen forming the government comprehensively, the counting of votes has been little delayed due to Covid-19 SOPs.

“Around 1 crore votes are counted. A significant amount of votes are yet to be counted. The process has been completely glitch-free,” Election commission said in a press conference.

According to latest trends, there are 80 seats where the margin of lead is less than 2,000 votes. On 49 seats, the margin is less than 1000 votes. On 23 seats, candidates have a lead of less than 500 votes. In a tightly fought contest, on 11 seats, the margin of lead is less than 200 votes.

The election commission, in its press conference, said around 1 crore votes have been counted out 4 crore 10 lakh votes.

“We hope to finish the counting as per the procedure by late tonight,” EC deputy said.
