Decision after high level meeting with PM Modi

Sources said that the new lab will deploy its team in different areas of China border such as Arunachal Pradesh etc. and will work with the armed forces deployed there. The two labs were merged soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s detailed review meeting with his ministerial colleagues, DRDO President and Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat.

Meanwhile DRDO Chief Dr. G. Satish Reddy’s tenure has also been extended by the government and he has been entrusted with the important responsibility of bringing about necessary reforms in the major defense research agency.
