After meeting Mr Thackeray, the delegation said the Shiv Sena has promised support to farmers in their movement.
“He said that he’ll support all programs of farmers during agitation. He’ll also come to the meeting in Delhi two weeks later. He said that he’ll support farmers’ agitation,” an Akali Dal leader was quoted as saying by Free Press Journal.
Senior SAD leader and former MP Prem Singh Chandumajra was leading the delegation. They are also likely to meet NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
Earlier On Saturday, the SAD leaders met West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata and sought her support for a joint front against the NDA-led Centre.
They had also gone to meet BJD leaders a few days back will former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav in the next week, as per the Indian Express report.
“All the regional parties have been feeling that we need to get together against the dictatorial attitude of the NDA government. This is the need of the hour to ward off the attack on the federal structure. Also, there is no strong opposition and the need to have a joint front has been felt by the regional parties,” Mr Chandumajra was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
