Unlock 4: Congregations Of 100 People Allowed, Metro To Begin Functioning, Bars To Serve Liquor

Social/ academic/ sports/ entertainment/cultural/ religious/ political functions & other congregations limiting to 100 people, keeping the Bihar elections in the mind, have been allowed by the central government.

On a day when India’s Covid-19 tally crossed 35 lakh cases, the central government released new guidelines for unlock 4 to further allow the opening up of lockdown imposed to curb the spread.

The centre, in its directives, has now allowed Metro trains to start functioning from 7 September, nearly 5 months after the services were suspended in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

“There shall be no restriction on inter-State and intra-State movement of persons and goods. No separate permission/ approval/ e-permit will be required for such movements,” the directive said.

Schools, colleges, educational, and coaching institutions are still not allowed to function and no regular classes can take place till at least 30 September.

After September 21, students of classes 9 to 12 may be permitted to visit their schools, in areas outside the Containment Zones only, on a voluntary basis, for taking guidance from their teachers.

Including the activities permitted by MHA, all other activities will be allowed except: (i)Cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres (excluding open air theatre) and similar places. (ii)International air travel of passengers.
