New Delhi : India on Friday reported 34,973 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the country’s overall coronavirus tally has jumped to 33,174,954. The virus also claimed the lives of 260 more people in the last 24 hours, while we see a dip in the cases of Kerala as cases are now below 40,000, a day after reporting more than 43,000 new infections. The seven-day rolling average of daily cases continued to fall in the state.
Meanwhile in Maharashtra reported a rise in Covid cases but also a dip in Mumbai. Mumbai reported 457 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths, while Pune city reported 233 new cases but no deaths, as per the state government’s figures.
Ahmednagar district reported the highest 798 new infections, whereas Satara reported the highest 15 fatalities among districts.
Coronavirus figures of Maharashtra are as follows: Total cases – 64,87,025, New cases- 4,219, Total deaths- 1,38,017, New deaths 55, Total recoveries- 62,95,236, Active cases- 50,229.

The death toll climbed to 4,42,009 with 260 people died due to Covid-19 in 24 hours. The active cases have increased to 3,90,646, comprising 1.18% of the total infections. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,23,42,299, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.33% according to the reports.
According to the Centre’s data, more than half of India’s adult population has received at least one dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine while 18% got both shots.
