Uproar Over Sena MLA Bhaskar Jadhav’s Behaviour With Flood Affected Woman

“MLAs will give 5-6 month’s salaries if needed to help people. But it will be of no use,” says MLA Bhaskar

Heavy rains caused havoc for the people of Konkan. After the flood waters receded in Chiplun, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met local people and traders today who were severely affected by the floods. While a woman in Chiplun tried to express her grief to the Chief Minister during his visit, the treatment she received by MLA Bhaskar Jadhav has sparked outrage on social media.

While CM Uddhav Thackeray was interacting with the victims in front of a shop in Chiplun market, a women started crying and expressing her grief to the Chief Minister.

In a video which has gone viral, the victim is seen saying, “Do something but help us. Water reached till my home’s roof, have lost everything. If needed, cut two months salaries of MLAs, but help us,” the women said, to which a patient Thackeray is heard saying, “Yes, I will do”.

Irritated at the suggestion, Shiv Sena’s Chiplun MLA Bhaskar Jadhav said, “MLAs will give 5-6 months’ salaries if needed. But it will be of no use”. As the woman continues to wail, Jadhav warns her son, “Make your mother understand” and raises his hand to hit the woman, but is stopped by leaders around him.

Highlighting Shiv Sena’s hooliganism, Somaiya condemned the Thackeray government.
