Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in his address to the state today said that the vaccination drive from May 1 will start as per availability of doses and requested citizens to not crowd at vaccination centers unnecessarily. He also urged the Centre to increase its share of supply to the state and the earliest and asserted that the state has the capacity to innoculate 8-10lakh people every day.

- The number of doctors, nurses cannot be increased. Oxygen availability is now an issue. Oxygen generation daily 1200 now using 1700 MT. Centre has given 500 MT quota from other states. bringing from there. paying for oxygen and transportation: CM Uddhav Thackeray
- Efforts are on to supply oxygen on time, maintaining balance. but if cases are increased then oxygen demand may rise further: CM Uddhav Thackeray
- The state needs daily 50000 Remdesivir vials. Centre is controlling the allocation. The state had been allocated 26,700 vials against 50,000 demand.: CM Uddhav Thackeray
- I urge doctors and patients that WHO and experts have warned not to use Remdesivir unnecessarily as there will be side effects. Please leave the usage of remdesivir to the doctors: CM Uddhav Thackeray
- Met divisional commissioners & collectors to set up oxygen generation plants. Tenders have been issued for the same. The establishment of the plant needs 20 days and for commissioning about 25 days. These plants will be up and running and the state will be able to meet demand oxygen third phase: CM Uddhav Thackeray
- We are also setting up jumbo care centres in the vicinity of steel and power generation plants to get easy oxygen supply: CM Uddhav Thackeray

- The health machinery and equipment are under tremendous stress since last March. There are fire and oxygen leakage. Health warriors get depressed due to these incidents: CM Uddhav Thackeray

- Vaccination of 18-44 years will start from May 1 based on the vaccine availability. I sent letter to the Prime Minister to allow every state to prepare their own app to be connected with Co-Win app: CM Uddhav Thackeray while speaking about the Co-Win portal crash recently
- I urge the youth to show restraint. Register on the app and only then go to centers. Vaccine supply is expected to increase by July: CM Uddhav Thackeray
