Amravati| Hundreds of women and farmers in the capital of Andhra Pradesh gave an emotional farewell to High Court judge Rakesh Kumar and created a human chain. He retired on Thursday. People greeted Justice Kumar with folded hands and raised slogans wishing long life for him.
He was one of the judges who stayed the Jagan Mohan Reddy government’s decision to make three capitals for the state. The locals had protested against the shifting of the capital from Amravati.

The judge made several critical remarks against the administration and reprimanded the state’s director-general of police for failing to ensure the rule of law.
