#Watch: Army in Siachen using hammer for basic meals in -40 degrees

Siachen | A video has been doing rounds on social media that shows just how difficult the lives of our jawans in Siachen are.

While most of us think it must be strenuous during wartime-like situations, few are aware that their struggles go deep, surviving one day at a time.

This video is shot by three jawans, who are currently suffering the fate of -40-50 degrees of cold.

In the video, they are demonstrating their obstacles in something as mundane as consuming food.

They cut open a fruit juice tetra pack, only to reveal a brick of what once was a juice. The soldiers reveal the juice needs to be boiled in hot water before they can drink it.

They try breaking eggs the next. They try banging the eggs on a table to open them with force, only for them to be bounced away. They say that these are the type of eggs they get on the glacier.

They also reveal that for eating tomatoes, potatoes and other vegetables, they have to be boiled in hot water.

Many people on social media have thanked the soldiers for their thankless service.
