“We’re All Vulnerable”: Congress’s Sanjay Jha Tests Positive For COVID-19

“Please don’t underestimate transmission risks, we are all vulnerable. Do take care all,” the Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha said.

Mumbai: Sanjay Jha, Congress spokesperson, has been tested positive for COVID-19, he said on Twitter on Friday afternoon. Jha, who is asymptomatic or without symptoms of the infection, is under home quarantine in Mumbai.

“I have tested positive for COVID-19. As I am asymptomatic, I am in home quarantine for the next 10-12 days. Please don’t underestimate transmission risks, we are all vulnerable. Do take care all,” he wrote on Twitter.

Congress spokesperson tests positive on a day when India registered over 6,000 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, highest so far, amid lockdown alarming the governments across the country.

The total cases in India surged to 118,447 including over 48,000 cured/discharged or migrated and 3,583 deaths amid lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19.

In the past 24 hours, 150 casualties were recorded. A staggering 6,088 cases new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours, highest so far.

Maharashtra, the worst affected state by the virus, recorded over 40,000 cases and 1,454 deaths. the state witnessed over 2,000 for the fifth straight day.

Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, figures climbed above 22,000.

Currently, there are 66,330 active COVID-19 patients in the country.

India is the 11th most-affected nation in terms of the total number of confirmed cases, overtaking China.

Globally, the total number of COVID-19 cases topped 5,000,000 while the death toll crossed 326,000, as per the latest data from Johns Hopkins University.
