1,200+ Tourists In Rain-Hit Sikkim May Be Evacuated Today

According to an official statement, over 1,200 tourists stranded in Sikkimโ€™s Mangan district may be evacuated on Sunday if weather permits. Sikkim Tourism Minister Tshering Thendup Bhutia will coordinate the evacuation, beginning through airlift and roadways. The tourists, including 15 foreigners, have been stranded for a week due to rain.
