A meeting was ongoing between Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Health Minister and BJP chief JP Nadda some time before the all-party meeting began.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has also joined the all-party meeting called by the government to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people.
The all-party meeting led by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday adopted a resolution that firmly denounces the โ€˜atrocious and inhumaneโ€™ assault on innocent civilians in Pahalgam. In presenting the resolution, Abdullah urged the governments of other states and union territories to safeguard Kashmiris from any harassment following the Pahalgam incident.
This incident follows the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in 26 fatalities, alongside a significant deterioration in diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan, which has led to the suspension of all visas for their citizens and the closure of the Attari-Wagah border.
Additionally, Air India announced that it anticipates some of its flights to and from North America, the UK, Europe, and the Middle East will need to take longer alternative routes due to Pakistanโ€™s decision to close its airspace to Indian airlines following the Pahalgam attack.
The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience this unexpected airspace closure, which is beyond their control, has caused to passengers.
