Amritpal Singh Surrenders In Punjab’s Moga

Khalistani separatist and fugative  Amritpal Singh, who was on the run since March 18, surrendered before Moga Police in Punjab. He will be shifted to Assam’s Dibrugarh jail, where eight of his aides, including Papalpreet Singh, are already being held under the National Security Act.Reported India Today. 

Jasveer Singh Rode, nephew of Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale, helped in the surrender of Amritpal Singh. Amritpal Singh surrendered in Rode, the native village of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who was killed in Operation Blue Star.

On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah was asked about Amritpal Singh at India Today Karnataka Roundtable 2023. The home minister said, “It may happen sometime. Earlier he used to roam freely, but now he cannot carry on with his activities.”

Twenty to 25 leaders of various Khaps had gone to Satyapal Malik’s New Delhi house to show solidarity with the former Jammu and Kashmir governor who will be questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation  were detained by Delhi Police.

Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh took to Twitter to inform that former Jammu and Kashmir governor Satyapal Malik has been detained by the police on Saturday.

“Satyapal Malik, who had been the governor of four states, has been detained”. “His crime is that he told that Modi had sent a broker to him. Modi and BJP do corruption along with capitalists”. the AAP leader tweeted.

However, the Delhi police confirmed that they have not detained Mr. Malik rather he had arrived at the R.K Puram police station with his supporters.

“Whereas, he himself has arrived at P.S. R K Puram along with his supporters. He has been informed that he is at liberty to leave at his own will. #DelhiPoliceUpdates” The tweet said.

Days after he had made many revelations about the Pulwama terror attack and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approach to corruption in an explosive interview to The Wire, Malik was informed by the CBI that he would be questioned on the Reliance Insurance issue – the scheme that RSS and BJP leader Ram Madhav were allegedly pushing Malik to pass while he was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir, and which Malik canceled. Malik is a BJP leader and has been governor not just of J&K but four other states.
