Selina John, a former Lieutenant, was reinstated following an Armed Forces Tribunal ruling in her favour in 2012. Supreme Court has ordered the Centre to pay ₹ 60 lakh in dues to a military nurse removed from service after she married. The court upheld the ruling, emphasizing the withdrawal of the marriage-based dismissal rule 1995.
