Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that Muslims will constitute the majority in the state by 2041 citing a 30% decadal growth rate. He also stated that Muslims currently make up 40% of Assam’s population, according to statistical sampling. He attributed the rapid population increase to this growth rate.
